Since the day we launched PocketTreasures on the App Store, the single most common message in our inbox has been a variation of the same thing: "My partner has an Android — when can they use it too?" Today we can finally give you a proper answer: very soon. We are in the final stage of Google's mandatory pre-launch testing process, and a Google Play release is just weeks away.
What is Google's pre-launch testing phase?
Before any new app can go live on Google Play, Google requires it to pass through a structured testing programme. This is not optional — it is a mandatory part of the submission process for all new applications. During this phase, Google's automated systems and testers run the app across a wide range of real Android devices, screen sizes, and operating system versions to check for crashes, compatibility issues, and performance problems.
We are currently in this phase. The app is built, it runs beautifully, and we are working through the final checklist that Google requires before they flip the switch. There is nothing broken — this is simply the compulsory process every new Android app must complete before it can reach users.
The PocketTreasures Android app has passed internal testing and is now in Google's mandatory pre-launch review. We expect to go live on Google Play within weeks.

The Android version of PocketTreasures has everything iOS families already love — the same privacy-first adventure log, the same beautiful timeline, and full support for Partner Sync. That last point matters a lot: for families split across iPhone and Android, Partner Sync means you and your partner can finally keep one shared adventure log together, regardless of which phone you use.

Why privacy matters even more on Android
One of the things we are most proud of about PocketTreasures is its privacy model. Your photos, notes, and location data are stored on your device and nowhere else. We do not run servers that hold your family memories. We do not train AI on your photos. We do not sell your data. This is just as true on Android as it is on iOS — and we think it matters even more in a world where many apps treat your family's most personal moments as a product.
On Android we use Google's local storage APIs to keep everything on-device. Your adventure log belongs to your family, and that is not something we will ever change.
